Through fun “friend raising” events, this group introduces the public to the mission and accomplishments of Women at Work and attracts new financial supporters, program partners and volunteers. Members will provide up to date insight and data to the organization to keep it relevant and meeting the needs of the community.“Unlike traditional auxiliary groups, the focus of this group is not fundraising but friend-raising and brainstorming to better inform the public about our tremendous work and success stories and to make sure we are providing the programs needed by women in today’s labor market,” according to WAW President Uma Shrivastava.The League will be a “brain bank” for Women at Work. The members represent diverse industries and types of businesses to provide guidance to the organization on employment needs and trends in large corporations or governmental organizations to entrepreneurial ventures.The League will hold a special Kickoff Reception at a private historical home in Pasadena on Thursday, January 29. Attendees will be entertained by an original comedic theatrical performance created by Theater Americana about the modern working woman! Theatre Americana produces a variety of performing arts projects in collaboration with organizations that provide social, educational, and health programs for children and adults and is donating its time and talent to Women at WorkWomen At Work, a career and job resource center, helps clients reach their full earning and employment potential in a supportive environment.
