A memorial service was held April 20 for Michael J. Dalton, 73, of Ceiba, PR, formerly of Hoboken. He passed away March 22. Born in Jersey City, Michael was a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and served in the U.S. Army. Michael was a locomotive engineer for Conrail/CSX/Norfolk Southern until his retirement in 2008. A member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Michael was part of Conrail’s Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT), which helps crew members following traumatic incidents that happen on the job. He also was a member of the Hoboken chapters of the American Legion and the Elks Lodge. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Catherine Dalton, and brothers Edward, Jr., and Paul Dalton. He is survived by his wife, Diane, of Ceiba, PR, daughter Michaela Dalton of Naples, Italy and brother John Dalton of Manasquan. Also by stepchildren Dawn Walus of Cambridge, MA, April Walus of Daytona, FL and step-grandchildren Samantha and Robert Walus of Daytona, FL, and Amber Walus of West Palm Beach, FL, as well as several nieces and nephews.Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
