Porter Davis has experienced such strong market demand, they’ve had to fast track the release of their new home designs.DEMAND for prestige homes from Queensland buyers is so strong that one builder has had to fast-track the release of eight new designs. Porter Davis, which has operated out of Victoria for 16 years, has seen unprecedented demand for its first Queensland offering – the Marriott Grange which is based on seven-star hotel luxury.The firm’s state manager Josh Darling said Queenslanders had embraced luxury design.“The intent was always to expand the Queensland range, but as a result of an overwhelming response we’ve fast tracked the next release of house designs. We have more customers coming to our display at Rochdale each week than any of our Melbourne displays.”The new homes include five designs from the prestige range: The Stamford 44 and 51, TheMarriott 43 and 47 and The Sheraton Grange 55. People are just drawn in.”Mr Darling said the Hamptons style was very hot right now and it helped to be part of an interesting display village in Rochedale.‘There is a lot of drive-by traffic even,” he said, with January up 47 per cent on December’s numbers.Mr Darling said Porter Davis had found that buyers in Queensland were also keen to spend between $100,000 to $150,000 on extras to add personal touches to their homes, with the company currently flying customers to Melbourne to select the “internals”.“We’re in the process of building our own “World of Style” (in Queensland) which is what we call our colour selection showroom.”Homes typically take six months to build for single storey and seven months for double storey.“At the moment we can build anywhere from the Sunshine Coast down to the Gold Coast but we don’t go further north at the moment.”Prices vary with the standard single storey Oxford prestige home starting from 259,900, while the home that’s generated massive attention – the Marriott Grange – started from $414,900.Display homes are at 15 Finch Parade, Rochedale.
