EXPLOSION IN LETTERKENNY HOUSING ESTATE

Photo by Joe LanganUPDATED: Gardaí have ruled out arson after a fire in a Glencar housing estate this morning.A large blaze broke out at Glenoughty Close at approx 10.30am this Saturday morning.Senior Fire Officers and Gardai have now established, the fire at the above estate this morning was not malicious. “It was caused by hot ashes in a pastic bin and the surrounding area caught fire,” said a spokeswoman for the local residents association.“The fire travelled towards both oil tanks and caused the explosion.
